The Glastonbury coffee shop serving CBD-infused beverages – Somerset Live

A coffee shop in Glastonbury is offering customers a different kind of morning buzz on top of their usual caffeine kick.

Customers at Coffee Zero on High Street, can now upgrade their beverage to a CBD-infused hot drink for an extra £1.50.

CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a non-psychoactive cannabis plant extract which some believe can help conditions ranging from anxiety and depression to arthritis and heart disease.

John Lintern, owner of Coffee Zero, introduced the the drink to the menu on Wednesday, April 12.

Manager Victoria Izzard spoke of the positive response to the coffee so far: “The reports have been great. It tastes nice, people have been feeling chilled out.”

In addition to fresh cups of coffee, packs of fairtrade CBD-infused ground coffee beans are also being sold for £25 each.

Mr Lintern acknowledged that the price is higher than ordinary coffee, but “if people benefit from the coffee then it is money well spent.”, he said.

The owner says potentially, if demand increases, he may expand the range of products from CBD-infused tea to CBD-infused ice cream.
